Indian Army officer Lt Col Shrikant Prasad Purohit, who walked out of jail in August after spending nine years as an undertrial in the 2008 Malegaon case, had submitted a secret report to Southern Command in Pune in 2006.
As per this report, which exposed links between radical Muslim groups, netas and liberal intellectuals. This report shows how Congress was hand in glove with several Muslim radical Terror groups and got due support from the so called Liberal and Secular factions.
It is also exposed how Congress fixed Colonel Purohit in a Fake case with the help of some Liberals, and they let off some Mulsim groups which were responsible for the Terror activities in several parts of India.
Notably, Colonel Purohit’s report was appended by the National Investigation Agency in the charge sheet submitted before the court. The report raises a question whether Colonel Purohit was punished for the expose.
Granting bail to Col Purohit, the Supreme Court court had in August observed there were contradictions in the chargesheets filed by the NIA and the Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad in the case.
Lt Col Purohit and a co-accused in the same case, Sadhvi Pragya, were among the 11 persons chargesheeted by the ATS in January 20, 2009, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.
However, Sadhvi Pragya was granted bail by the Bombay HC in April this year on health and other grounds.
On the evening of September 29, 2008, a powerful bomb exploded near the Nooraji Mosque in Malegaon killing six persons and injuring 100 others. An officer of the Maratha Light Infantry since 1994, Lt Col Purohit was arrested on November 05, 2008, and was charged as one of the main conspirators in the blast case.
Lt Col Purohit has alleged that he was beaten up by army people while in ATS custody. As Dy DG MI Brig Raj Kumar had received two letters, one from Major Ramesh Upadhyay (Rtd), who was also picked by ATS in the case and also a letter from Lt Col Purohit which had very hair raising and disturbing details about the torture.
According to Brigadier Raj Kumar (Retired), who was the nodal officer of the army in the Malegaon blast case, the army enquiry did not find any evidence that Col Purohit had supplied RDX for the blast while he couldn’t explain possession of an illegal weapon at his residence.
An eye witness has claimed that he was ‘forced’ by the ATS to impilcate Lt Col Prasad Srikant Purohit, who has been given clean chit by the NIA saying that ‘no evidence was found to link him to the train blast.’
Captain Nitin Dattatray Joshi also said, “I was threatened. Never saw RDX at Purohit’s house.” Making a startling revelation Joshi said, “I was forced by the ATS to implicate Purohit. When I said that I have no idea about the blast, they said I am not cooperating in the investigation and threatened me.”
