In India,we have seen a nefarious pattern of Anti National elements where they try to disrespect our National emblems. Our National song National Anthem has been mandated to be played at cinema halls and multiplexes, there has emerged a new groups of secular people who adamantly and openly refused to stand up and pay respect to it. Some people have even been seen questioning such an “act”, terming it as a hindrance to personal enjoyment.
In a recent event at the university, which saw numerous people – mostly students – coming together for celebration, some students refused to stand up and pay respect to the National Anthem while it was being played. Not only they were sitting but also seemingly unaware that such an important part of the program was going on as they were busy giggling and taking selfies.
The students of various universities across the country seem to be more vocal about it than anyone else. Needless to say, the flagbearer of this is none other than India’s foremost university, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).This incident of disrespecting our national song by the youth is totally unacceptabale and is criticizing from various corners of the society.
It is to be mentioned here that the program saw the presence of the State Governor as well as senior police officials among other dignitaries. And this incident definitely brought much shame to the university.

But JNU isn’t alone. Many universities and colleges have joined in the list, with the latest being Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.
As we are completely in favor of punishing all those who show disrespect towards Nation and symbol of nationalism, in the same tone we would also like to question why should the order be limited to theaters? Why not arrest all those who show disrespect to symbol of nationalism anywhere in the country. Be it a politician, a particular religious leader or anyone for that matter, that person should be punished aptly for his misdeeds.
